Who we are and What to expect

Who are we?

We are a community of Christians from different backgrounds, all ages, and at different stages in our walk and relationship with God.

We enjoy meeting together, for worship, for activities, for meals, for study and for times of prayer.

We are a Baptist Church affiliated with the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and enjoy friendly relationships with other local churches from both traditional and contemporary backgrounds.

What should you expect?

Going anywhere for the first time can be difficult.  Each of us experienced a ‘first day’ at church!

So please, RELAX! None of us are super-spiritual! We will try our best to be friendly and helpful, but YOU must help us help you: tell us when we are not friendly, or tooooo friendly!

Join us for  SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

We start our meeting at 11 am with announcements and notices.

Our Sunday worship has been described as “traditional yet different, modern but not trend, liturgical but not set, and varied“. We worship God and praise Him, we exalt Christ and we honour the Holy Spirit. We spend time praying for our world, our nation and our community. We enjoy Bible readings, take pleasure in singing, and delight learning from the Word of God.

On the first and third Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy Communion, and on fifth Sundays (in months with five Sundays) our morning service is dedicated to worship-in-song, similar to a “Songs of Praise” service,  worshipping God by singing our favourite hymns and songs, and carols at Christmas.

On finishing our regular worship an hour or so later, we meet over tea and coffee to chat and catch up.

Plan to arrive around 10.45 am. Car parks are available (free for the first 2 hours only).

For directions to reach us please see the FIND US page under ABOUT.

AND… should you require it, our entrance is accessible for the disabled, and the Sanctuary is fitted with a loop for the hearing impaired.
